Our show about Curling reflects our insights and observations about our favourite game, the athletes and their stories during the biggest competitions.

In the final episode of the season, Lori and Mary are joined by Daryell Nowlan to recap the World Mixed Doubles Championships and discuss their thoughts on this crazy pandemic curling season. The girls and Daryell discuss the results, how Canada fared and their mutual admiration of the commentators.  Recently Brad Gushue had suggestions which could make Mixed Doubles more equitable.  Other topics in this episode include a debrief on the season, a crystal ball look into the upcoming season and what curlers have been up to.  There may even be a little dirty curling talk to round out the final episode of season 6!

Episode 29 of pandemic season six rolls through the final days of the 2021 women’s worlds.

Lori and Mary start with weird curling podcadt dreams (!) before discussing the #WWCC2021 results, the Olympic berths, Canada’s wild roller-coaster week including missing the medals (women’s and men’s) for the first time ever, and the “Weight of the Maple Leaf” ... which might not even be a real thing.

Thanks for listening and stay safe!

On to episode 28 of season six. Lori and Mary start with all the discussion points from the first half of the world women’s championship in Calgary—the TV crew positives, the German positives, Canada’s struggles, coaches from different nations, eyeglasses and more.

The 2 Girls then discuss their first-hand experiences with curling pressure before speaking with multiple STOH and world champion skip Colleen Jones. The legend focusses on her first worlds appearance with her new-at-the-time squad in 1999—which Jones describes as a “failure.” It’s a remarkable segment.

The gals wrap up with some final notes.

Enjoy the episode and stay safe!
