In this special mini pod episode, the girls weigh in on Team Canada's "burned rock controversy".  Is it a controversy?

Do you think that Curl Canada dictating who Homan could take as a fifth is affecting team dynamics?

Why would they put Rennee out there with them? It is painfully obvious that they do not respect or want her input.

It is not muddled. It is not a grey area. It is perfectly clear and has been clear for years. Especially at the highest level. Also you don't seem to understand the rule. IF the rock is burned between the hog lines it is pulled. If it is burned after the far hog line THEN it is not pulled. It MUST be allowed to come to rest. THEN the skip of the non-offending team SHOULD put the rocks where they would be if the offense had not occurred.

The rule does need to change. I.e. The player should not be allowed to pull the rock full stop. Instead the only option should be to put them where they would have been without the foul.

Finally. Every conceivable effort has been made by the HIGHEST level curlers to KEEP THE OFFICIALS OUT OF IT. None of the elite athletes want the officials back in the game. ALL of them want the game policed by the players NOT the officials.

Rachel's being villified for staying within the rules. Their first time at the Olympics. The same European teams go time after time. Very disappointed in CBC for hanging Rachel out to dry. Rachel said in the interview that they have been at many international and world events where rocks have been removed. Where are the Canadian Olympic coaches and support network to speak to what happened.

Girls, so your saying that if I play a draw and that draw is going to raise an oppontants stone into the house. Had my sweepers touched it prior to hitting the stone it should be removed and everything goes back. Ummmmm, there used to be teams that burnt stones purposely when it was going to do something unwanted. We changed the rules after that to what we have today.

you women never once used the words etiquette or spirit of the game. Two concepts Rachel also also forgot today.
And disparaging day ladies curling- shame on you. There is not one rule for club curling and one rule for Rachel. If the rock is automatically removed by the sweeper they are back to the days of burning rocks on purpose.
